Dorodango mud ball
In this project, I engaged in a meditative practice, working with soil for hours to shape it into a perfect, smooth sphere—a dorodango, or mud ball.
I then placed this perfect mud ball next to an anthill, inviting the ants to explore this unusual object in their environment. Watching them investigate the sphere felt almost like a science fiction moment—a mysterious monument appearing in their world.
